PDA Piece #2 - Entitlement Takes a Holiday...
Artists respond to the detention of a same sex couple for showing affection on LDS property and or the idea of public display of affection. PDA Show Piece
Hope Springs Eternal (Gay is Good) is my gut reaction to the curatorial proposal suggested by artist Laura Sharp Wilson for The PDA Show (http://www.thepdashow.blogspot.com/), opening in various locations in Salt Lake City, UT on February 19. Simply, it’s my visual desire for gays and lesbians to be completely accepted for no good reason and to live simply and honorably anywhere. “Gay is Good” is a slogan created by Frank Kameny, one of the first modern-day American gay activists, whose groundbreaking and tireless work should be better known to us all:
