ShoeboxLA presents Karen Frimkess Wolff

ShoeboxLA, my and Sophia Allison's labor of love gallery, is presenting its final show for our first ever season.  It's been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable projects I've done and I'm always amazed and impressed with what artists do for us.  The support for ShoeboxLA has been so great and working with my cohort Sophia has been nothing short of perfect.  Thank you to everyone for your encouragement and for supporting artist-run spaces in Los Angeles.

Join us on June 16 for Karen Frimkess Wolff:

ShoeboxLA Presents
Karen Frimkess Wolff: Dancing on Eggshells

Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 4-7pm

Little Tokyo Galleria – Second Floor
333 S. Alameda St (at 3rd), Los Angeles, CA 90013

ShoeboxLA concludes its inaugural season with Los Angeles artist Karen Frimkess Wolff.  Wolff’s presentation, Dancing on Eggshells, traverses gracefully and joyfully through precarious times and fragile circumstances, while stepping triumphantly onto beds of roses and ultimately into safety.  Wolff, a Los Angeles native, has been exhibiting her sculpture, drawings and installations for over 40 years.  She received her BA in Painting and Drawing from UCLA and her MA in Art History from Cal State Northridge.

ShoeboxLA is pleased to be returning to the Little Tokyo Galleria, the location for our first show in September of 2011.

ShoeboxLA gives Los Angeles artists an opportunity to do one-day, site-specific exhibitions outside the traditional gallery setting. Founders Sophia Allison and Paul W. Evans provide an intimate space that challenges artists' and viewers' expectations of size and scale. Locations change for each show but the space remains the same.
